Dr. Daniel Goldowitz reappointed Tier 1 Canada Chair
Congratulations to NeuroDevNet Scientific Director Dr. Daniel Goldowitz on the renewal of his Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Developmental Neurogenetics!
Dr. Goldowitz is among 150 new and renewed research chairs announced April 9 by the Honourable Ed Holder, Minister of State (Science and Technology), during a visit to the University of Toronto Mississauga. Dr. Janet Werker, a developmental psychologist based at the University of British Columbia, was also renewed as a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair.
The Canadian government's $139 million investment in the CRC program, with an additional $7.6 million in infrastructure support provided by the Canada Foundation for Innovation, is intended to help promote research and development and will support top-tier talent at Canadian postsecondary institutions.
The CRC announcement is the second prestigious renewal for Dr. Goldowitz in recent months. In January, an official announcement was made of the renewal of NeuroDevNet as a National Network of Centres of Excellence for an additional five years.
